Imposter syndrome sometimes feels like it has you in a chokehold. Fear is most likely the thing holding you back. Personally, fear has held me back from doing quite a few things in life; however, I took the first step by saying “no more!”. Many times we are plagued with a lot of “what if” questions. These questions increase our fears and doubts, which then lead us to shrink ourselves. I’m here to tell you today, NO MORE! Many times we are plagued with a lot of “what if” questions. “What the &*$% am I doing here😶?” or “I don’t deserve this raise.” This example is just one of many describing what it feels like to experience it. You start doubting yourself and perceiving yourself as a fraud or imposter. I know I am not the only one who’s experienced this feeling. Let’s all stop selling ourselves short because we work hard for what we have and accomplish in this ride called life. Stop talking yourself out of it.
Accept that promotion, start that business, create that website, start that blog, buy that Chanel bag, go on that lavish vacation, buy that new car, simply because you deserve it. You worked hard to get where you are. No one knows the blood, sweat, and tears you shed to get there, and do not let anyone, not even yourself, try to make you feel like you’re undeserving of the finer things in life. I believe that “what if” goes both ways. Instead of asking all of the “what if something goes wrong or doesn’t work out” questions, try asking “what if this works out?”. Never stop celebrating your wins/accomplishments, no matter how small or big they may seem. A win is a win. Celebrate yourself every day!
I like to dive it, and do things even if I might fail. I like the expression “fake it until you make it”.
That’s another way to approach it😊
I can relate so deeply to imposter syndrome. It seems no matter what level of “success” I achieve, there’s always a feeling of being a fraud. “What if this works out” is great advice and the mindset I’m having for 2022!
Thank you for commenting 🤍that statement is a driving force for me.
Yes! I love this. The biggest failure is never trying at all! There is always knowledge and wisdom gained if something goes wrong.
You’re absolutely right 😊as the saying goes better to try and fail than fail to try
Yes you deserve it! Glad you’re getting that boldness and self-acceptance
Thank you Hope 💕
Thiss!!! I’ve felt this way when I started blogging because I thought I wasn’t good enough. I felt this way when my workplace appointed me as secretary to the Board of Management even though I have the experience.
👇🏾 very important
